Burnt Hills Music was started in 1991 by its present owner, Rick Werblow. A graduate of Syracuse University (BA in Music), Rick performed in thousands of venues on the East Coast. In 1988, returning from Georgia, Rick began teaching in a local music chain, seeing 65 students a week on guitar, piano, bass, and harmonica. When that chain folded in mid-1991, Rick “gambled everything” and started Burnt Hills Music.

Today Burnt Hills Music has well qualified teachers on staff giving students individualized lesson programs in fretted Instruments (guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin), brass winds (trumpet, trombone, french horn, tuba), woodwinds (saxophones, clarinets), piano and drums. Many different instrument programs are available.

In addition to being a full teaching academy, Burnt Hills Music is a full-line music store selling all of the above instruments with all supporting accessories.

We offer full school band rent-to-own programs, including school breaks for all local school districts.
